A limited edition bronze Anasazi Sunrise: The ancient Sityatki
settlements of the Anasazi produced a unique and theretofore
unknown polychrome pottery. Their creative designs were so unusual,
fluid and beautiful, they were recognized as collector's items even
in their aboriginal world and often traded as currency. This
Sityatki-based design is dedicated to the art of pottery and to the
desert lands and people which give it the voice of a morning sun.
It captures the warmth and glow of the Arizona desert plateau....
Anasazi Sunrise Sift, sieve, soak and knead, Pot pinch, pat smooth,
give heed. Scrape, form, around, arise, Dry, then bury 'neath
morning skies. Pots and shards stacked as one, Nature's oven, earth
and dung. Fire tend, boil the weeds, Emerging treasure, paint with
reeds. Fire again, glazing hard, Round life's circle, another
shard. A. Pauwels 1994
